NEW WEBSITE: NORUNG
NORUNG is an interdisciplinary network of scholars focusing on the situation of ethnic minority youth in the Nordic countries. Welfare states in the Nordic countries have in several decennials had some goals in common, but there are also decisive differences, for example when it comes to industrial development, urban planning, and migration and refugee policies. These disagreements and differences are of central concern for our network’s ambitions. Starting from the analysis of postindustrial development pattern we will direct our attention towards youth’s segregation – and integration processes. The network will create conditions for a common Nordic cooperation with the aim to show and reflect upon differences and similarities in the Nordic countries’ development patterns. Our network has the intention to let the described scientific horizons of knowledge generated in the respective countries speak with each other in a fruitful dialogue.
In addition to the internal network seminars, the network has hosted a series of seminars with international scholars such as Paul Gilroy, Loïc Waquant and Mustafa Dicek.
