Provisions of Welfare to ‘Irregular Migrants’
IMER Bergen, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, UoB and Nordic Migration Research (NMR), is organizing a 2 days kick-off conference for the research project “Provision of Welfare to ‘Irregular Migrants’” (PROVIR).
PROVIR will investigate the Norwegian welfare system’s assessment of irregular migrants’ rights and their actual social and health situation from a combined legal and social science approach, examining the complex relationship between law, institutional practice, and migrants’ lived experience.

EUMARGINS: On the Margins of the European Community
EUMARGINS is a collaborative project financed by The Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) of the European Union. The project investigates experiences of young adult immigrants in seven urban-metropolitan areas in seven different European countries: Norway ( Oslo), Sweden (Gothenburg), the United Kingdom ( London), Italy ( Genoa), France (Metz/Nancy), Spain ( Barcelona) and Estonia ( Tallinn). Briefly, the research project seeks to find out what it is that hinders inclusion of young adult immigrants in some European countries, and what it is that opens up for it.
Migratory Portal
The Statistical Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has developed an inventory of information sources and institutions dealing with migration issues. Called migratory, this inventory identifies over 1800 sources located in the UNECE region.
