Calls for papers to journals

RELIGION AND GENDER : SPECIAL ISSUE ON GENDER, RELIGION AND MIGRATION
The special issue on Gender, Religion and Migration will look at the intersectional dimension of gender, ethnicity and religion where religion in particular plays a central role in providing a sense of belonging for migrants and represents a source of identification during the migratory experience. The special issue will focus on the ways in which gender roles are constructed and reproduced through religion within migrant communities in urban contexts and brings together leading scholars in the field of migration to explore how geographical mobility shapes gendered religious identities.
Abstract submission deadline : 27 February 2012.

MERKOURIOS: INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN MIGRATION LAW
Merkourios, Utrecht Journal for International and European Law, is issuing a call for papers to be published in its forthcoming edition on International and European Migration Law. The Board of Editors of Merko urios invites you to submit papers addressing any aspect of migration law from a multilevel approach; for example, freedom of movement within the European Union, status of European citizenship, criminalization of irregular migration, detention, family reunification and rights of children, labour migration, and asylum and refugee law.

TRANSNATIONAL SOCIAL REVIEW : TRANSNATIONAL AGING
Until now only few academic efforts have been made to explore how and to what extent transnationalism impacts on the lifeworlds, identities and relationships of older people. For instance, how do transnational interactions transform older people’s lifestyles and living arrangements? How do older people negotiate family relationships within a transnational context? What role do transnational ties play in contrast to local or regional social networks?
Inquiries and all proposals should be sent to the guest editors Vincent Horn, Cornelia Schweppe, and Seong-gee Um.
Submission deadline of proposal abstracts: 31 March 2012.

STUDIES IN ETHNICITY AND NATIONALISM : ETHNICITY, NATIONALISM AND EDUCATION
The editors welcome submissions of work in progress as well as contributions from established scholars, research students, post-doctoral fellows and lecturers in the early stages of their career. Submission deadline: 31 August 2012.
