IMER PH.D. FELLOWSHIP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BERGEN

The Department of Social Anthropology, University of Bergen, has a vacant PhD position related to International Migration and Ethnic Relations. The scholarship period is set to 4 years, 25% of which must be dedicated to teaching, supervision and administrative tasks at the Department and IMER Bergen. Application deadline: 31 May 2013.

MOBILITY AND POLITICS

Mobility and Politics is a new series from Palgrave Pivot, edited by Martin Geiger, Parvati Raghuram and William Walters. The series invites original, theoretically and empirically

informed studies for academic and policy-oriented debates. Authors examine issues such as refugees and displacement, migration and citizenship, security and cross-border movements, (post-) colonialism and mobility, and transnational movements and cosmopolitics.

TRAINING SCHOOL ON FIELD RESEARCH METHODS IN ENVIRONMENTALLY-INDUCED MIGRATION
As part of COST Action IS1101 Climate change and migration: knowledge, law and policy, and theory, COST Action Network and UNU-EHS organize a training school on field research methods for early PhD and late Master students, and those planning to conduct a PhD. The training school is designed for students interested in environmentally-induced migration who are planning to conduct field research on this topic.

TWO POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITIONS AVAILABLE
The Historical Institute in the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Cologne seeks to appoint two full-time post-doctoral researchers for a period of three years starting on 1st October 2013. The positions will form part of an ERC-funded research project into the transnational history of “Left-wing Exile in Mexico, 1934-60”.
