* IMER PHD FELLOWSHIP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BERGEN

At the Department of Comparative Politics, University of Bergen (UiB), a funded PhD fellowship is vacant. The total scholarship period is 4 years, 25% of which shall be dedicated to teaching, supervision and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will have his/her work place at the Department of Comparative Politics and contribute to ongoing research both at the Department and the interdisciplinary IMER-Bergen network at the Faculty of Social Sciences, UiB.

Call for papers to a special issue of Journal of South Asian Diaspora to be published in 2015. The special issue will explore the importance of immigration to the Persian Gulf in the 21st century. It will focus on the themes such as gender and human trafficking; issues of return and remigration; implication of immigration to the homeland and the host society; and policy perspective. ASEN/NATIONS AND NATIONALISM PRIZE
Call for papers for the ASEN/Nations and Nationalism Prize in the Memory of Dominique Jaquin-Berdal. The essay Prize has been established to encourage young scholars to publish original research in ethnicity and nationalism. Submissions are invited on all areas and themes in the field of nationalism studies. Submissions may be made by currently enrolled post-graduate students and those who have submitted their thesis within five years of the submission deadline. The final date for submissions for the 2014 prize award is 30 November 2013.
